Garantert moshpit, wall of death og alt sånt.

Alternativt legge epost-adressen din i svaret.

Som oppvarming til konserten tok vi en prat med JB Brubaker, shredmaster og leadgitarist i August Burns Red. Han forteller  om hva du har i vente før konserten på Fabrikken.

Hey dudes,
last time I saw you Norway, I think it was at Sentrum Scene with Lamb
Of God, was brilliant. What has happened with August Burns Red in the two plus years since that show?

– Since that tour we put out our best most successful album to date, Leveler, and toured the world like crazy. We made our first visits to
places like South America, Russia, Greece, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Alaska, Hawaii, etc as well as many repeat trips across North America and Europe.  We also just released a full length Christmas album titled Sleddin’ Hill, A Holiday Album. We’ve been very busy and the past two years have been the biggest years of our career.

I saw you guys at Graspop in Belgium this summer, where you managed to get a whole tent of european metal dudes to dance like John Travolta. How nervous are you before asking festival crowds to dance with you?

– That’s a better question for our singer Jake because he’s the one in the center of the stage shaking his money maker. I am just standing
off to the side strumming my guitar. Haha! Jake is a wild one on stage and I don’t think that nerves or being embarrassed are things that he thinks about at all. He says and does whatever he is feeling at that
moment and then just goes with it. I like that aspect of our show. I think it’s fun and keeps things interactive.

What’s the craziest crowd you’ve had?

– This past May we played a 600 capacity club in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was our first time playing in Hawaii and the show was sold out. During our first song, “Empire”, the crowd pushed forward and crashed into the stage moving the entire stage backwards and off its supports.
The stage buckled and collapsed and our gear went tumbling off the
back of it.  We obviously had to stop playing and it took a good half hour before we were able to start playing again. That was the first
(and hopefully the last) time the stage has collapsed while we were playing.

And any stories from touring where people don’t get you at all?

– We haven’t played many shows in recent years where the crowd is
confused as to what’s going on.  At this point we book shows/festivals that suit our types of fans. When we were first starting out,
however, we used to play some events that we had no business being at
such as church gatherings and things of that nature. We would play wherever we could so if it was offered to us we’d play. I can remember playing some really small church picnic type things where people are just sort of standing around confused as to what is going
on. “Why all the screaming and noise?” . It makes for a very
uncomfortable set. Nothing like banging your head as hard as you can while a bunch of moms stand there with their hands over their ears.

You’re celebrating 10 years as a band next year, what are the plans for the great anniversary?

– 10 years is a milestone I don’t want to make a big deal of. 25 years,
that’s one to celebrate. Our 10th year will be business as normal. We
will be putting out a new record and touring our butts off. No big party, no hooplah. Just more rocking.

And finally, what are the most important item to bring to an August Burns Red show?

– I assume you mean from a fan perspective. I would say comfortable shoes because standing around for hours watching music can be tiring. Also bring an extra shirt or some money to buy one at the merchandise tables because people are probably going to be sweating on you and you’ll want something dry and clean to put on afterwards.
