1)Get repairs and changes to the car done on the road-its so much cheaper once you leave western europe.
2)locals are amazing at fixing anything, even on the side of the road and often for free
3)let random people sign your car-its a good way to avoid getting a speeding ticket, the police seem to love it.
4)getting out of “speeding fines” ie bribes. Firstly, pretend you have NO idea what they r talking about. Be friendly but act stupid. If they still persist, put a fake phone call into the “Norwegian embassy”-that normally scares them. If this all fails, then RUN (no jokes, you may have to pay up but start bargaining, SYrian style!)
5)Watch how the locals drive-if they suddenly slow down, theres something you dont know about e.g. speed camera, police station
6)watch for the dreaded road canyons (somewhat like your bed!)-they destroy the underside of the car.
7)dont pack to much, more weight=car scraping along the road=hitting a rock in Mongolia in the middle of nowhere.
8)take your time and get chatting to the locals-end up in all sorts of random places e.g. Kygryz wedding on the Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan border!
